The batch, with its controls on it
A batch is the unit the QC record hangs from: which samples ran together, on which instrument, with which reagent lot, and which blanks, duplicates and reference materials ran with them. Software that keeps results per sample and not per batch cannot show the assessor the controls a result ran beside. The QC sheet works how many controls a week that record carries.
